What is a walk-in bath?
Walk-in baths are bathtubs designed with a watertight door, allowing you to enter and exit without stepping down or into the tub, making them ideal for elderly people or bathers with mobility restraints.
A walk-in bathtub can come in upright or full-length versions and are very securely built so that those who use them can easily get in and out without the need for help or assistance.
Our walk-in baths have additional safety features, such as grab bars, anti-slip floors, low entry access doors, temperature control systems and integrated seating, making the bathing experience safer and more relaxing for bathers seeking more independence.
Just like our walk-in baths, our walk-in showers and wet rooms both share similar safety features that enhance the independent bathing experience.
What are the benefits of a walk-in bath?
Discover how our walk-in baths can transform bathing into a safe and comfortable experience:
Do you have to sit in the bath while it fills?
Yes. Because a walk-in bath has a door that seals, you get in, close the door and then fill it. Models such as the Haven have a fast-fill pump to shorten the wait, and a thermostatic filler keeps the water at a steady temperature.
How long does a walk-in bath take to fill and empty?
That depends on your water pressure and boiler, so no single figure applies to every home. Several models use a dual waste system for faster draining, and the Haven has a fast-fill pump. Ask your surveyor to estimate it from your actual water supply.
Which walk-in bath suits a small bathroom?
The compact models are the Haven, Cove, Assure and Assure Premier, at around 1200mm long. They are shorter and deeper than a standard bath, so you sit upright rather than lie down, and they usually fit the space an ordinary bath already occupies.
What is the difference between a compact and a full-length walk-in bath?
Compact baths are around 1200mm long and you bathe sitting upright. Full-length baths are around 1700mm and let you stretch out as you would in an ordinary bath. The choice usually comes down to floor space and how you like to bathe.

Walk-in bath sizes
We design our stylish walk-in baths with practicality in mind. Available as compact or full-length tubs, our walk-in baths can suit all bathroom sizes so that you can find the perfect solution no matter your floorspace.
Our compact baths – such as the Haven, Cove, Tranquillity and Assure Premier – are much shorter and deeper than regular baths. They typically measure just 1200mm long (full-length baths usually measure 1700mm long), making them ideal for bathrooms with limited floor space.
Our range of full-length walk-in baths includes the Paradise, Momentum and Empower, all offering stylish solutions to bathing difficulties. You can also choose a modern, P-shaped bath that allows you to shower easily inside the walk-in bath.
Can I shower in a walk-in bath?
Yes, if you choose a P-shaped model. The Paradise is P-shaped, which widens one end to give room to shower as well as bathe. That suits households where one person needs the bath and another would rather stand under a shower.
What is a hydrovescent spa?
It is the air spa massage system offered as an option on several of the walk-in baths, and included on the Assure Premier. It pushes air through the water to create a massaging effect. People generally choose it for aching joints and muscles.
Can I get a walk-in bath with a powered seat?
Yes. The Momentum and the Empower have the Simple Lift powered seat, which lowers and raises you at the press of a button, and it is an option on the Paradise. The seat has a battery back-up, so it still works in a power cut.
Will a walk-in bath fit where my current bath is?
In most cases yes, particularly the compact models, which are designed to fit standard bath areas. The free home survey checks the space, the floor and the pipework. If the fit is tight the surveyor will say so rather than leaving you to find out later.

We have recently had a bath with shower fitted. The installers were Pate & Pauline. The work was very good and most important, the description of how it all works was given in detail. So, we knew exactly the operation. They are good workers. Joyce & Alan Chester
