What is a wet room?

Wet rooms are a stylish and practical modern-day way of bathing. While showers are a very popular bathing style, there are some features of regular showers that make bathing not ideal for elderly persons or those with limited mobility. Often, issues arise if one needs to sit down in the shower (if they can’t stand for a long time) or when they have to step over the shower tray when entering and exiting. With wet rooms however, these issues are solved.

Firstly, wet rooms have no shower tray to step over, meaning that it’s easy access for someone walking in or for mobility aids such as wheelchairs. Our wet rooms also have an optional seat for those who’d like to sit and relax while bathing if they prefer doing this. Overall, this makes wet rooms an extremely attractive choice for people who might experience these issues. Safety, relaxation and style are at the forefront of our minds when designing our luxury wet rooms.

How much is a wet room?

Installing a wet room into your bathroom can vary in its cost. This is because there are certain factors that need to be taken into account. They are:

  • The size of your bathroom
  • The size of the space needed for the wet room
  • The different features you may want to include with your wet room

You can learn more about the price of installing a stylish wet room to your home bathroom by downloading a brochure or simply by contacting us by phone or sending a contact form with your details. Our team are here to help you find the best solution for you regarding wet rooms.

Should I consider a wet room?

As we grow older, the muscles in our body might not be as strong as they were when we were younger. This could lead to reduced flexibility and balance, meaning that we need extra support in certain areas of our day-to-day lives.

With a stylish and luxurious wet room, your bathing stops being an agitation or point of concern for those with limited mobility, but something to enjoy greatly and relax in. If you have any of the following thoughts, then perhaps you should weigh up whether a wet room would benefit you:

  • You require a mobility aid access (wheelchair, for example)
  • You enjoy showering but have an issue with entering or exiting it
  • You’d like extra support aids like grab bars, optional seat, splashguard option or anti-slip trays
  • Easy-to-use thermostat control

Discover more about our other bathing options that you might like – walk-in showers and walk-in baths. Alongside wet rooms, these provide a wealth of bathing options for those who might not have considered extra supported bathroom features such as these. We’d encourage those interested to speak to our team if they would like to find out more.
