How much does a mobility bathroom cost?
If you have mobility concerns, customising your bathroom to make it more user-friendly is an important step towards making you feel safer and more confident in your own home. But if you’re wondering about the cost of a disabled wet room and worry that it might be out of your price range, we’d like to reassure you it may well be more affordable than you think.
How do we price mobility bathrooms?
At Premier Care in Bathing we believe in transparency. That means that as our valued customer you know what you’re spending before you commit to a purchase of one of our disabled bathrooms; that’s why you won’t find any prices on our website.
Because our showers, bathtubs and wet rooms are all custom designed around your personal choices as well as your current bathroom size and layout, it’s very difficult to price a product accurately without first conducting a survey that takes into consideration the different factors.
For example, the size of the wet room, shower or bath you choose will have an impact on the cost. We offer a range of different sized products to suit different needs and bathrooms and naturally the larger the installation, the higher the price will be.
The layout of your current bathroom can also affect the price. It might be easier to install a new shower, bath or wet room in the same position as your current installation due to the position of the pipes. Changing the layout may let you get the best from your bathroom, but this may impact on the final price.
Accessible walk-in shower prices
So how much does a disabled wet room or walk-in shower cost? Again, this depends on the product you choose and the size of the shower tray, as well as other specifics. For example, we offer different wall and floor finishes - see our Refresh walk-in shower which offers an easy-clean aqua board option that comes in a variety of stylish colours.
Our accessible walk-in showers also come with a choice of seating options, doors, enclosure types, grab rails, and access types and any combination of these can affect the end price.
Walk-in bath prices
We offer a range of walk-in baths at different price points to suit different budgets. One thing all of our mobility baths have in common, however, is that they all feature safe, low-level access and optional safety features.
When it comes to walk-in bath costs, this will depend on the bath size, shape, and door opening as well as any add-on luxury options such as spa jets, that you choose.
From easy access to different size tubs for smaller rooms and full-length baths such as our Empower walk-in bath to baths with seats, we’ll create a bathroom that’s tailored to your needs.
Disabled wet room prices
Typically, wet rooms offer the easiest access of all and are suitable for wheelchair and other mobility aid users. The cost of a mobility wet room depends on the fittings you choose, its size, and your existing bathroom layout.
Maybe you need extra space to allow for carer access or perhaps you have personal preferences over the design of your future bathroom. Everything from the shower enclosure to the floor and wall coverings is your choice. It’s your wet room and we want it to work perfectly for you. That is why our free survey is important as it will help us determine the cost.
Options for keeping the cost low
If you feel that a customised mobility bathroom would increase your quality of life but you’re still worried about how much a disabled wet room costs, the good news is you may be eligible for financial assistance.
For example, if you’re living with a disability or a chronic illness that affects your mobility, you would not have to pay any VAT on the cost of your walk-in shower, walk-in bath, or disabled wet room, as well as on the installation fee.
We go through a short survey to make sure you are eligible when putting together the cost of a disabled wet room, but that would save you a generous 20% on the total price.
You may also qualify for a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG). If getting in and/or out of your current bath is difficult and you would benefit from a mobility bathroom - and you plan on staying in your current home for the next five years - this is an option well worth looking into. Please note, we cannot help with applications, this has to be done with your local council.
Whether you’re in the early stages of thinking about replacing your tub with a walk-in shower, a walk-in bath or a wet room, or you’re already committed to the idea, Premier Care in Bathing’s free customer survey is your first step towards a mobility bathroom that works for you.
As we’ve mentioned, we can’t provide set-in-stone mobility bathroom prices on our website. Instead, we offer a free no commitment bathroom design and survey.
This will take into account your specific needs when it comes to bathing, the size and shape of your bathroom, your personal preferences and safety features, and of course the final look and luxurious touches that will make your new disabled wet room a pleasure to spend time in.
